This month, we were delighted to welcome Tom Black to our team. In this article, we share a few details about what motivates Tom, his treatment style, greatest achievements and career highlights. Time to break the ice…
What drives you?
My greatest passion is seeing my clients achieve their goals. Whether that be helping them to improve muscular function or simply offering some advice, I am able to adapt my treatments to suit the needs of each client I see.
How do you devise your treatments?
During the initial consultation, I strive to find how they would like me to help them. From here, I adapt and devise a plan to ultimately improve their general health and wellbeing.
What are your greatest achievements?
Some of my biggest achievements include representing the Isle of Man at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, India. I also won the Isle of Man road race championships in 2010 and in 2011, I spent the year racing for a top Belgium cycling team. I have also won 3 Golds, 1 Silver & a Bronze medal at the International Island Games.
Career highlights to date?
During my studies, I ran my own clinic, ‘TBM Therapy’, where I worked with many of the Island’s top athletes, including Moto GP legend Cal Cruthlow and World Superbike Champion Jonathan Rae. After completing my studies for Sports Therapy in Manchester, I left the Isle of Man to embark on a new journey in Australia.
In my short time massaging, I have also worked with JLT Condor Cycling team. Currently I work with top Melbourne Peninsula footy team Frankston YCW, as well as VFL team Box Hill Hawks. My career has been a great adventure so far, and I’m sure there are plenty more adventures to come at Muscle Freedom.
